The Voice: Ranking The Teams

Ranking The Teams

Blake is Building a Country Army

With the battle rounds starting I am going to be taking a few different things into consideration. I will be looking at the choices of battle contestants, the picks of the winners, whether any of the coaches stole anyone and especially which adviser is the coolest.

1. Team Adam

Battles

Midas Whale vs. Patrick Dodd
Song: Burning Love by Elvis Presley
Winner: Midas Whale

Sarah Simmons vs. Duncan Kamakana
Song: Wanted You More by Lady Antebellum
Winner: Sarah Simmons

Amy Whitcomb vs. Agina Alvarez
(Not Shown on TV)
Song: Heartbreaker by Pat Benetar
Winner: Amy Whitcomb

Stolen Artists: Orlando Dixon

Adam easily has the most talent on his team and that is proven by the fact that one of the best singers on his team hasn't even been shown on the show for more then a couple seconds. Besides my love for Amy Whitcomb, Adam picked Midas Whale to move on and had an easy decision when he kept Sarah Simmons over Duncan Kamakana. Out of all eight of his singers he has five that are arguably the best singers in this competition. It looks like it will come down to which coach uses their artists the best in the next round.

Already Picked: Judith Hill, Amber Carrington, Warren Stone, Caroline Glasser

Best Performance: Midas Whale vs. Patrick Dodd

2. Team Blake

Battles

Jacqui  Sandell vs. Savannah Berry
Song: Little White Church by Little Big Town
Winner: Savannah Berry

Justin Rivers vs. The Morgan Twins
(Not Shown on TV)
Song: Easy by Rascal Flatts ft. Natasha Bedingfield
Winner: Justin Rivers

Stolen Artists: Luke Edgemon

Blake had pretty much secured the best country singers last week and surprised no one by bohlstering his stable a little more. He picked Justin Rivers and Savannah Berry and stole the pop/country Luke Edgemon. Add those three to Holly Tucker, The Swan Bros, Danielle Bradbury and Grace Askew and you have a touring lineup for any country music festival.

Already Picked: Holly Tucker, The Swan Brothers, Danielle Bradbury, Grace Askew, Taylor Beckham

Best Performance: Jacqui Sandell vs. Savannah Berry

3. Team Usher

Battles

Jessica Childress vs. Vedo
Song: Locked Out of Heaven by Bruno Mars
Winner: Vedo

Orlando Dixon vs. Ryan Innes
Song: Ain't No Sunshine by Bill Withers
Winner: Ryan Innes

Chelsea M. vs. Michelle Chamuel
(Not Shown on TV)
Song: Titanium by David Guetta ft. Sia
Winner: Michelle Chamuel

Stolen Artists: C. Perkins, Cathia

Usher drops a spot this week only because it looks like Blake has put together a better team of eight. He made great picks in Ryan Innes and Michelle Chamuel but kind of surprised me when he took Vedo over Jessica Childress. His wasted one of his steals on probably the weakest artist that was left and got lucky when Shakira picked Mary Miranda instead of the obviously better Cathia.

Already Picked: Jess Kellner, Josiah Hawley, Audrey Karrasch

Best Performance: Orlando Dixon vs. Ryan Innes

4. Team Shakira

Battles

Luke Edgemon vs. Monique Abbadie
Song: You and I by Lady Gaga
Winner: Monique Abbadie

C. Perkins vs. Kris Thomas
Song: It Will Rain by Bruno Mars
Winner: Kris Thomas

Brandon Roush vs. Shawna P.
Song: Piece of My Heart by Janis Joplin
Winner: Brandon Roush

Mary Miranda vs Cathia
Song: Antes De Las Sies
Winner: Mary Miranda

Stolen Artists: None

We got a lot of Battles from Shakira's team this week and I'll tell you what, it doesn't look to good going forward for her chances of winning. She made a huge mistake taking Monique Abbadie over Luke Edgemon and a not-so-big but still confusing choice of Mary Miranda over Cathia. Brandon Roush and Kris Thomas were the obvious choices, if only because of who they were up against. The best case for Shakira to win is one of the artists she stole from Adam.

Already Picked: Garret Gardner, Tawnya Reynolds, Karina Iglesias, Sasha Allen

Best Performance: Luke Edgemon vs. Monique Abbadie

Tonight's Top Three on TV

American Spies, American Psychics and American Survivors

1. The Americans (FX 10/9c)

With one week left until the season finale this episode will probably be a little bit of a table setter. It looks like Phillip and Elisabeth are tasked with turning a high ranking American politician into a source but at what risk. It all really depends on how close Stan is coming to capture them and we see he has some drawings of what the Russian spies look like. Let's hope they don't look too much like the Jennings'.

2. Psych (USA Network 10/9c)

After Juliette decided Shawn should move out she quickly hops onto craigslist for a new roommate and when someone contacts her they get off to a great start. But like every Psych episode something bad is going to happen, this time Juliette's new roommate turns out to be an identity thief. Good thing Juliette has an ex-boyfriend who is a crime solving psychic.

3. Survivor (CBS 8/7c)

After last weeks tribal council I was speechless and now I'm left wondering how my favorite player, Malcolm, is going to be able to save himself and his boys club for another week.

I will be doing this post Sunday to Thursday because there is nothing good on TV Friday and Saturday. If you want to follow me on Twitter or send me some feedback follow me at @AJ_Trevor

T.T.T.TV. (April 23)

Tonight's Top Three on TV

Reality TV Tuesday

1. Hell's Kitchen (Fox 8/7c)

Gordon Ramsay tried something new last episode, he took the chef coats of four contestants and they would only get them back by earning them. Although he has been trying some new stuff, the good ol' f-bomb dropping chef is still berating the contestants and he seems to be losing patience faster than normal. Now, when you put all the ridiculous characters in the group, you get some great interaction between the contestants and chef Ramsay. And in the preview clip it looks like someone might try and talk back to the head chef which could turn out to be quite exciting.

2. The Voice (NBC 8/7)

I have only one thing to say about the fourth season of the Voice, I want there to be more battles like Judith Hill and Karina Iglesias. NBC/The Voice executives, please take that into consideration.

3. Robot Combat League (Syfy 10/9c)

The finale of the first ever giant robot fighting league airs tonight! That means Crash will face Steam Punk in the domed circle, for the championship. I can't wait to hear if they are bringing it back for another season of this giant robot demolition derby.

Honorable Mention

Storage Wars (A&E 9/8c & 9:30/8:30c)

Two new episodes? Yuuuuuuuup!

Big Brother Canada Recap: Episode 24

Big Brother Canada Recap

When Andrew Met Gary, Again

Now that Gary is back in the house you can be sure that he will do everything in his power to stir things up. The real big question though is will he be in the house long enough to actually change anything? Besides Emmet, Gary really doesn't have anyone that he could trust seeing as how Andrew got him out, Jillian lies to everyone and Talla still thinks Gary is just visiting. Look out Gary Glitter is back in the house.

Head of Household
(The HoH has all the power in the house.)

Emmet

Emmet won the HoH competition by putting together a puzzle faster than Gary, Talla and Andrew, earning his second reign as Head of Household(would have been third if he didn't get DQ'd). After the competition he started playing both sides rather quickly. He told Gary that they have options now that he's back in the game and at the same time tried to calm Andrew down by telling him the truth. Although both strategies backfired pretty quickly with Gary trying to get him to talk about getting Jillian out of the house while she was around the corner and when he told Andrew the truth, Andrew realized that he was as trusted as he thought and got pretty upset.

Nominees
(The two players currently nominated for eviction.)

Gary - I still can't figure out if Emmet is playing Gary or actually plans to take him to the final two but either way Gary has made it further than I think anyone expected and I have a feeling he won't care if he goes to the Jury house for a second time.

Andrew - Andrew, the old man, is about to lose his mind. At one point before Gary was re-introduced, Andrew said he would self evict if Gary came back(he has yet to do it). He is constantly annoyed by Talla and is probably on his last nerve. Now he also has the fact that his alliance isn't as faithful as he is and it is unlikely he will take that laying down.

Marcia The Moose

Marcia came alive this episode to scare the crap out of Talla, she also confused her with simple statements and made her revert to a childlike wonderment with the revelation that she couldn't tell anyone about her.

The mission that Marcia had Talla do was to set up an hour long talk show. She had specific tasks to accomplish in order to earn a reward for the house. Her first task was to do a two minute monologue, her second task was to find out an interesting fact that she didn't already know about each one of the other house guests and the third task was that after each fact she had to reply "I did not know that!"

Talla ran around the house and forced the cast to join her in the living room and actually telling Emmet that it could not wait and that he had to come now. It seemed that we were forsure in for our first fail of the season but I think the rest of the house kind of knew that it was a secret mission and went along with it in order to get a reward.

In the end Talla pulled it off and earned the house a night of fun and Talla-tini's. Talla and Gary were the only two that seemed to be excited for the alcohol.

WTF: Jillian Crazy Face
(Things I just can't explain.)

Mid-way through the episode we are shown a flashback to Peter and Jillian talking the day before Peter was evicted and Peter basically told her that if he was sent to the jury house then he would poison the whole jury against her. Now here is were it gets really good Jillian is obviously being threatened and she knows it so she tells Peter exactly what she thinks. While her emotions start to show we get to see a side of Jillian we have never seen before: The Jillian Crazy Face.

Best Quotes
(Here are some of the best quotes from last nights episode.)

3. "You're a prick." - Andrew to Emmet

2. "What's a monologue?" - Talla to Marcia the Moose

1. "Now when Talla finally wraps up this episode of Talking With Talla, you know, you get that sense of relief, like after you go to the doctor to get a rectal exam perhaps." Andrew in the Diary Room.

Random Thoughts
(Here are some of my random thoughts.)

- Talla has no chance of winning the game. The Jury will not vote for her to win and if she goes to the final two her best case scenario is second place.

- I give Jillian and Emmet's relationship one month when they get out of the house.

- Gary might have screwed himself by bringing up Jillian's name while she was in the HoH bathroom. Although he Jury house lies might give the house a reason to keep him.

- I believe out of every one Jillian knew the Talla Talk Show was a secret mission the whole time because as soon as Talla brought up the idea she was nudging Emmet and telling him they should go.

- I wonder how many producers had to tell Talla she couldn't tell the other players about Marcia. My guess is three.

- I don't know if Emmet know's any actual chess strategy but if he wins I will definitely start to play that certain board game a lot more in preparation for the next Big Brother Canada.

Running Cast Grade: C+
(Last Episode: C+)
(Grading the cast on an episode to episode basis.)

This episode was filled with Andrew complaining, Gary lying, Jillian and Emmet making out(I don't know if that happened because when they are on the screen together I usually tune out for a bit) and Talla not know what was going on. The talk show bit was boring, it dragged on for a little longer than necessary and if it wasn't for the couple of hilarious quotes from Andrew and Emmet would have been completely useless TV. Ladies and gentlemen get ready for at least two more weeks of you Big Brother Canada top five.

Tonight's Top Three on TV

Mondays Top Three Two

1. Bates Motel (A&E 10/9c)

Monday is quickly becoming a slow night for TV(during the someone a lot of nights become "slow") and with that in mind I only have two suggestions for what you should be watching.

Bates Motel has been a pretty good show so far this season and where it is heading definitely intrigues me. This weeks episode has the Bates joining together to take down the dirty cop that's been doing the dirty with Norma. Who is the next one to die? The Blonde Cop? Norman's crush? The girl crushing on Norman? Or will it be the older Bates brother? My odds are on the cop but that might be too easy.

2. The Voice (NBC 8/7c)

The battle rounds continue and hopefully we get a few unforgettable performances. After last week I'm worried that we might be in for one of the worst battle rounds in the four seasons.

If I had to pick a #3: Defiance (Syfy 9/8c)

I still haven't seen the premiere(that's why I wasn't sure about it) but I've heard good things and if I was forced to pick a third show it would be my pick.

T.T.T.TV. (April 21)

Tonight's Top Three on TV

Don Draper, Jon Snow and Ragnar Lothbrok

1. Game of Thrones(HBO 9/8c)

Daenerys gets her army, Cersei is trying to take out the Tyrells, the Hound might be in too deep and from the editing it looks like Jon Snow might be taking a little trip over the wall. But the least exiting sub plot is if Theon will make it out alive. All I really want is him to be killed in a spectacular fashion, come on HBO give me that at least.

2. Mad Men (AMC 10/9c)

If you take the YouTube clip into consideration you'll see Stan being sneaky, Joan being snarky and every one else saying a couple lines that have absolutely no context. And with that here is another one of my weekly not-bold-at-all predictions: Stan's bear will look bushier than ever.

3. Vikings (History Channel 10/9c)

War is coming but instead of that(we'll have to wait until next week for that) it looks like we are getting an episode where the Vikings led by Ragnar go on a spiritual journey where they will have to sacrifice someone, that doesn't sit to well with the priest. But my main takeaway from the clip is that is that Donal Logue(Terriers, Grounded for Life) is playing a Viking leader of his own. I have a feeling this series is going to have an epic ending.

Big Brother Canada Recap: Episode 23

Big Brother Canada Recap

This Episode Belonged To Peter

With another Power Shift coming this episode we look forward to Peter or Talla walking out and one of the members of the jury house coming back into the game. Whatever way the vote(the eviction and Canada's) it will be a different house after this episode.

In Memoriam
(Remembering the evicted house guest.)

Peter

Peter was an incredible social game player and although he won very little when it came to competitions he definitely won my heart. Whether he was eating pizza, chicken tenders or pizza he always had something clever to say. He was the funniest member of the Big Brother Canada cast and built one of the better alliances of the season. During his exit speech with Arisa Cox he said that because he was out of the game he had played the whole thing incorrectly, but if I were to pick one thing that could have been his downfall was that he didn't get a third or a fourth person into the Shield(or The S.H.I.E.L.D.). I really don't know who I will cheer for the rest of the season and would much rather watch the Jury House with Alec and Peter over the last two weeks of Jemmet, Lalla and Old Man Andrew. You will be missed by all the awkward nerdy Canadians that now see you as a role model.

Chevrolet Power Shift
(Big Brother sometimes likes to affect the game.)

The third Power Shift of the season brought one of the evicted Jury members back into the game. It was between Topaz, Alec, AJ and Gary and it was all decided by a vote from Canada. The vote was close and in the end Gary was chosen by Canada with only five percent more of the next person(they never told us who was the second place finisher in the vote). So Gary re-enters the house with only two weeks left and a whole lot of adversity sitting on the outside of a four person alliance.

Head of Household
(The HoH has all the power in the house.)

Competition: Brick by Brick

The house guests each had a metal outline of the big brother house and they had to use different magnetic pieces to build the house. The winner would win the HoH.

(If you want to know the HoH competition winner highlight the space after winner.)
Winner: Emmet

Random Thoughts
(Here are some of my random thoughts.)

- A friendly four person alliance is never good for the end of a Big Brother show because there is no tension and very little infighting. The best case scenario is you get The Brigade and worst case you get Beast Coast.

- Talla is the least deserving person in the final five. She hasn't won anything and it appears she doesn't even understand the game.

- The clips of the BBUS contestants was pretty great. Obviously Janelle would love Jillian and Ian would love Peter but the fact that Janelle and Rachel both like Jillian blows my mind.

- Rachel's idea of a Big Brother Mash-up of the Canadians and the Americans is a great idea(maybe her best idea ever) but they should wait until a couple seasons into the Canadian version and wait for me to be on the show!

- Everything about Peter this episode was amazing. His campaigning was some of the best I'd ever seen and if Jillian and Emmet were smart they would have kept Peter just in order to split the alliance of Andrew and Talla. His silent speech before the votes was easily the best one of the season and when he exited the house and became a professional wrestler for a few minutes had me standing and cheering.

- The Jury house scenes were so scripted and directed pretty poorly.

Running Cast Grade: C+
(Last Episode: C)
(Grading the cast on an episode to episode basis.)

At the end of the night Peter left and Gary came back. Andrew wont be happy because he is old and change bothers him, Talla wont understand that Gary is back in the game and Jillian and Emmet share a brain so whichever way one goes the other will follow. Bringing Gary back into the game will be great for a couple days and is a guarantee for some action but in the end he will probably be gone next week and it will be back to the most boring final four since I can remember.
