T.T.T.TV. (March 24)

Tonight's Top Three on TV

Vikings, Consultants and Zombies, Oh My

1. Vikings (The History Channel 10/9c)

This week Ragnar Lothbrok and his merry men travel to another English town to raid and pillage. Although they are met with more resistance than the last town, the real trouble comes when they return home and have to deal with the Earle and the consequences to certain actions. Will the merry group of Vikings stick together  in face of the Earle? Or will Ragnar cut off his head and take control (this is very unlikely but I really want it to happen).

2. The Walking Dead (AMC 9/8c)

It looks like this episode will be devoted to Merle. Will the group accept him? Will he apologize to Glen for tying him to a chair, beating him, leaving him in the room with a walker, and then taking his girlfriend to be almost raped by a psycho? Will Glen shoot him in the face? Although I might not be too interested in that story line it has to be better than anything with Andrea right?

3. House of Lies (Showtime 9/8c)

Marty is trying to start his own company but he is going to need clients for that. It looks like this week we will get our first look at how he is going to try and poach some of Galweather's clients. Also Jeannie looks to be getting her own "pod," while Doug dates she-Doug and Clyde feels guilty and insecure. What will happen next?

I will be doing this post Sunday to Thursday because there is nothing good on TV Friday and Saturday. If you want to follow me on Twitter or send me some feedback follow me at @AJ_Trevor

T.T.T.TV (Jan. 27)

Tonight's Top Three on TV

Lena, Don and William H. Macy

1. Girls (HBO 9/8c)

The second season of girls has been terrific so far. With the addition of Donald Glover as Hannah's republican boyfriend, the character one eighty done by Adam Driver and the whole Jessa painting her husband has been pretty great but the best part of this season is Allison Williams. Since the season focuses on the other three girls a lot more, we get to see a lot of the inner workings of Marnie and all I have to say about that is, more.

2. House of Lies (Showtime 10/9c)

The relationship between Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell in this show is off the wall, and now with the addition of guest star Nia Long the tension should only get more palpable.

3. Shameless (Showtime 9/8c)

Shameless is a show about family, a very poor morally shady family. William H. Macy plays the alcoholic "absentee" father (he is physically there but never totally there) with six kids. Emmy Rossum plays the oldest sister who more or less raises her siblings herself. The kids are always in search of new and probably illegal ways of making rent or paying their property taxes.

Last week we found out that the next oldest sibling, Lip (played amazingly by Jeremy Allen White), wants to take over running the family because Fiona (Emmy Rossum) has gambled some of the property tax money on her putting together a night at a bar. We also saw the youngest daughter go nuts on her father with a pillow case full of bars of soap. She was the only one that still thought he could be good until he stumbled into the house high and drunk and broke her science project. Lastly we found out that series regular and neighbor to the Gallagher family, Kev (Steve Howey), has a wife and child the he never told his now wife Veronica about. I can only imagine what's going to happen tonight, and it's all good.

Tonight's Top Three on TV

Tonight's Top Three on TV (Jan. 20)

Girls, boys and the Sugar Dome!

1. Girls (HBO 9/8c)

Season 2 started off delightfully with Hannah and her new roommate throwing a party and inviting all their friends. Except Jessa, who only showed up briefly with her one-minute-husband getting back from their honeymoon. I need some more Jessa. But the highlight, for me, in this first episode back was Adam Driver's character and how he has done a complete personality 180 since being smashed by a car last season. He is not only throwing himself at Hannah but he is also completely self pitying and pathetic. It shows how good of an actor Adam Driver is but how well his character is written by Lena Dunham. Lastly, Donald Glover is guest starring! What can be better then having Childish Gambino on one of the better shows on TV. (Sorry Community.)

2. House of Lies (Showtime 10/9c)

If you read my Year in Review: TV blog post than you would know how I felt about the sex and depravity on this show. Which is to say, I love it. Don Cheadle brings his movie acting chops to the TV and is killing it. After seeing a couple of film actors try TV and fail (Laurence Fishburne, Forest Whitaker) it's nice to see one doing so well. And he hasn't stop being in movies either.

This season the "firm" (I really don't know what, what they do is called) gets a new boss and right off the bat they are off to their old games of lying, cheating and lying. Cheadle and Kristen Bell do a great job working off each other and if the first episode is any indication they will have a lot more time to do that.

3. Sugar Dome (Food Network 8/7c)

If you stick with me through these daily Tonight's Top Three on TV posts then you'll start to realize how much I enjoy watching the food network and different cooking shows. Mostly I enjoy the Cooking Reality TV shows like Hell's Kitchen, MasterChef and Top Chef but this show is really quite exciting. The concept is that there are three teams where a sugar artist, a cake designer are teamed an animatronics specialist or a fruit carver or a graffiti artist to create amazing sugar creations. Each week different teams are given a theme (eg. Dragons, Daredevil Stunts, Alien Invasion) and throughout the competition are given specifique tasks and or objects to incorporate into their designs. The winning team gets $15,000.

Tonight's episode is called When Toy Stories Come to Life at Night and the sugar and cake artists will be joined by a toy designer. Sounds great!
